Colorful fabrics at Sololá
Published January 30th, 2007 in Places and moments.
At times in the morning (if you are lucky) you can find people working at the very side of the road making all sorts of handicrafts. This is a day “at the office”.
Take your time to get off the car and talk, seek human contact, different to the kind you are used to. This was a nice chat with lots of spontaneous smiles.
Take the road to Sololá and enjoy an afternoon at Lake Atitlán.
An afternoon?
Yes. For most of the people who are not used to travel, it seems hard to plan a trip, but when you are used to you can see how easy it is. You can leave the city at 6:00AM and reach Panajachel at 9:00 just in time for breakfast. Hang around, take some pics and buy handicrafts and come back at night, after you have waited for the sunset.
Panajachel is exactly at 150 kilometers from Guatemala City. Pick any sunday… do it.
